Stearyl alcohol is a safe ingredient in products for skin care?

I found a site for organic skin care, but when you look at the ingredients, stearyl alcohol is included I need to know if it is unsafe -. or even should be an organic product?

Stearyl alcohol fatty alcohol is used as an emollient and to help keep other ingredients intact in a formulation. See Alcohol fat. And alcohol is made from fatty acids, fatty alcohols are used in cosmetics as thickening agents and emollients. They are not drying or irritating forms of alcohol. Conclusion: stearyl alcohol or cetyl alcohol are standard, benign agents, cosmetics and waxy thickening are completely nonirritating and safe to use.
